In February 2013 the Community of Glendaruel and Colintraive purchased Stronafian Forest through the National Forest Land Scheme. Forests have always been a very important part of life here in the Glen, from the days of the Messoliths onwards. Trees have always been an integral way of life along the Red River, so as part of our Summer School, we explored what trees mean to some of our younger folk.
*ARC is held every year in the Glendaruel Village Hall for four weeks during the Summer Holidays. Organised by Sadie Dixon-Spain, and supported by the Cruach Mhor Windfarm Trust, The Glendaruel Village Hall Committee and other funders, the ARC programme brings in expertise from all over Cowal and beyond to give the children something more interesting to do. As the film shows the children are of a variety of ages and come from communities all around Colintraive and Glendaruel.
This film was the result of a session run by New Media expert Jean Donaldson of Powanmedia. Our thanks to her for editing this fabulous movie!
