Practical Learning – Weaving

The Mesolithic and Neolithic periods in the timeline have fascinated the pupils of Kilmodan, and they were very keen to explore further what life would have been like 10,000 years ago, when man first came to Glendaruel.

Local weaver, Susan Gaffney, joined the Walking Youth Theatre team at Kilmodan Primary’s Forest School, to teach the children how to create plates by weaving locally sourced plants,   to highlight ways our hunter gathering ancestors would have used what was available to them in the Glen to design products we take for granted every single day.
