Geocaching in the Glen

The pupils of Kilmodan Primary School pupils have been learning about Geocaching, and how they plan on adding  Glen of the Red River project to the world-wide treasure hunt!

What is Geocaching?

Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. Participants navigate to a specific set of GPS coordinates and then attempt to find the geocache (container) hidden at that location.

How is the Glen of the Red River project a part of the Geocache community?

The pupils have identified three key areas in the Red River Communities – The Colintraive Heritage Centre, Dunans Castle & Grounds, and of course, Kilmodan Primary School. Three separate Geocaches have been created, full of some exciting Glen of the Red River treasure, and will be hidden at each of the key areas, ready for Geocachers from all around the world to journey to the area, and uncover the Glen of the Red River treasure!
